My name is Gonçalo Fernandes, and I’m a Portuguese-born musician, producer, arranger, and cultural manager currently based in the United Kingdom. My creative practice bridges music, social impact, and interdisciplinary collaboration — focusing on queer identity, public health awareness, and emotionally driven narratives.
I strongly believe in the power of art to shape dialogue and inspire change. I develop projects that blend sound, community engagement, and storytelling. Through my work, I aim to invite audiences to rethink assumptions and connect emotionally through shared experiences — whether in galleries, schools, or public spaces.
Music has taken me on an incredible journey, from performing timeless classical pieces to exploring bold, contemporary collaborations. As a violinist and project director, I have had the chance to be part of unforgettable performances, recordings, and creative projects that continue to shape my artistic voice.
I invite you to explore my portfolio, where each performance and collaboration tells a story. Whether you’re a music lover or simply curious about my work, I hope you find something that resonates and inspires.

Gonçalo's practice spans composition, production, curation, and outreach, frequently working across disciplines to merge art and activism. He has led numerous collaborations that fuse music with visual art, social themes, and lived experience.
In 2024, he launched the Red Ribbon Project, a multidisciplinary initiative funded by Tŷ Cerdd and Arts Council Wales, which explores the history and stigma surrounding HIV through music, visual art, and community dialogue.
