National Museum Cardiff

This workshop was designed to inspire and empower young people by encouraging them to explore different forms of artistic expression. Through movement, visual arts, music, and film, students had the opportunity to experiment, collaborate, and connect with a diverse community of artists in a creative and supportive environment.

The project was inspired by The Rules of Art exhibition, which featured painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, film, and ceramics spanning five centuries. This powerful collection explored themes of identity, culture, and representation, using music as a bridge to deepen the artistic experience.

As the invited musician, I led a masterclass on using musical instruments and techniques to express emotions and tell stories. This foundation led to an improvisation session, where students experimented with sound and storytelling. To close the workshop, we turned to a Welsh folk tale, creating a small but meaningful performance that showcased their creativity and growth.
