Electro-acoustic Concert Series
Festival DME - Dias de Música Electroacústica - made its inaugural debut in 2003 and has since become a thriving hub of creation, programming, and education in the realm of contemporary art music and electroacoustic exploration. Under the visionary artistic direction of Jaime Reis, the festival initially took place in Poland, but its home is now in Seia, nestled close to the majestic Serra da Estrela. It is here that the Ensemble DME, with two published CDs, also finds its residence. Since 2017, Festival DME has expanded its reach with a new home at Lisboa Incomum, a venue founded by its artistic director. This expansion has led to a continuous artist-in-residence program in both Seia and Lisbon. While the festival primarily operates in Portugal, it has traversed three continents, leaving its mark in South America (Brazil and Colombia), Asia (China, Korea, the Philippines, and Japan), and Europe (Spain, France, Italy, Monaco, among others).
In 2013, I had the distinct honour of winning the prestigious 1st prize Nano Músicos Electroacústicos with my performance of "The Fifth String" composed by João Pedro Oliveira. This transformative experience served as a pivotal moment in my career as a young violinist, and I am forever grateful for the opportunities it bestowed upon me. Following the competition, I had the privilege of participating in a series of captivating concerts, where I had the chance to showcase my skills and share my profound love for music with audiences throughout Portugal. The memories of these performances continue to serve as a wellspring of inspiration, fuelling my unwavering passion for the violin.
Festival DME receives funding from Direcção-Geral das Artes / Ministério da Cultura and is supported by Instituto de Etnomusicologia - Centro de Estudos de Música e Dança (INET-md), Câmara Municipal de Seia, Collegium Musicum - Conservatório de Música de Seia, and Lisboa Incomum.
